In the summer of 2015 Youth SOULutions was launched. A new Faith based ministry for youth at Harris County Leadership Academy. I am dedicated to helping young people overcome the negative mindset to which they often succumb and help them realize their true self-worth. The services include four components:
- Institutional
- Aftercare
- Family Reunification
- Positive Parenting Program
Youth SOULutions, along with our community partners continue providing support, mentoring, one-on-one as well as large group outings and event after their release from placement facilities. As Executive Director of Youth SOULutions, I am committed to identify, define, and assist at-risk-youth reach their goals and highest potential and provide safer communities.
Youth Soulutions recognizes that parents of youth on probation often struggle with the management and coordination of the obligations with which the youth need to comply, as well as all the service providers that often become involved in the family's life. Their struggles often lead to frustration and a feeling of helplessness that can interfere with the youth's success on probation.
- Youth Soulutions has more than 8 years of successful relevant experience providing similar services, including organizing parent advocates and/or parents of system involved youth via peer mentors and peer support systems in Harris County.
- Youth Soulutions volunteers/mentors and staff are qualified and have relevant experience providing similar services to the target population.
- Youth Soulutions has experience working in the communities in which all ethnic and culturally diverse youth on probation in Harris County.
- Youth Soulutions can recruit appropriate and qualified parent navigators from the relevant communities.
- Youth Soulutions has the programmatic, fiscal, and managerial capability to provide the proposed program to ensure successful outcomes.
